	'Hercules' and 'Xena' writers and directors

This is the list of all the writers and directors who contributed to the Hercules and Xena episodes, derived from the on-screen credits, and as accurate as I can make it. It includes the 'Hercules' tele-movies but not Young Hercules.

The writers and directors are of interest because they reputedly had the greatest influence on the nature and quality of episodes. It is known that many other people, credited or otherwise, influenced the storylines of episodes on many occasions. However, the host of Producers, Executive Producers, New Zealand Producers et al has been omitted because their influence in many cases is unknown, what is obvious is that it varied widely - for example, Rob Tapert, Executive Producer had a major influence on most episodes, while Sam Raimi, Executive Producer preferred to make movies instead. The rest of the large production team have been regretfully omitted for space reasons (and I only have one pair of fingers).

Writers have been listed first, in name order. Each episode had either a 'Written by' credit, or, occasionally, a 'Teleplay by' plus a 'Story by'. Where this occurred it has been noted in brackets.

To distinguish more readily between the series, Hercules episodes are shown in Maroon, Xena episodes in Teal. The episodes for each writer are listed in chronological order of airing, so you can see where a writer switched from one series to the other.

Just to more readily answer those trivia questions like 'who wrote the most episodes', I've added the total writing credits for Herc and Xena episodes in brackets after the list of episodes, for the more prolific writers only. This is the total the writer had a credit in, whether 'Written by' or 'Story by', whether they shared the credits with someone else or not. Similarly for directors, in the second table.
